We are looking for a proactive and worshipful individual to coordinate the delivery of training for Local Worship Leaders on a consultancy basis.

The role requires an experienced and skilled trainer with an in-depth knowledge of worship, reinforced by theological knowledge and a passion for growing the church. It also requires the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people; to build trust; to inspire others; to walk alongside people in their development; and to work efficiently and independently across Cornwall.

The Local Worship Leader Training Coordinator will work across the Diocese to plan and recruit to Local Worship Leader training. It is likely that some delivery of training to Local Worship Leaders will be required as well as training trainers. The role also includes reviewing and developing training resources; working with parishes to identify Local Worship Leaders; and providing Local Worship Leaders with regular updates on matters relating to their role.

A Local Worship Leader is a volunteer who plays a key role in the life of a church. They may assist ordained or licensed ministers with services and may devise and lead non–Eucharistic services and other forms of worship. There are currently 352 Local Worship Leaders in the Diocese of Truro with new volunteers coming forward regularly.

This is initially a 6-month, consultancy only contract as we carry out a review of our programmes.
