Safeguarding trainers and co-ordinators from across the diocese have been celebrated at a special service in St Petroc’s Church in Bodmin.

As well as the 28 safeguarding co-ordinators and trainers one friendly hound also came along to share in the day.

The service, the first time such an event has been held, included safeguarding co-ordinators and trainers sharing their experiences. Bishop Philip lead the service and presented tokens of thanks to those attending.

Sue Day, the diocesan safeguarding governance manager, said: “The service went very well and we were pleased to hear from those attending that they felt it was a nice opportunity to be able to reflect on their roles and what they had achieved. It was also a really good opportunity for people to get to know each other.

Following presentations, there was the opportunity for refreshments and conversation.
