Is God calling you?

In baptism we all put on Christ. We are gifted with the potential to reflect Christ in the world. Whether single or married, female or male, deacon or priest, lay or ordained, each one of us is called, in our own way, to help bring Christ's salvation to the world.

In whatever capacity we find ourselves serving God, we can never be more baptised than we already are! Our baptism is the root of all our service and ministry.

As we continue to  move forward as the people of God in our Diocese into new ventures in ministry, we know that we will need all faithful people to:

  • play their part
  • risk engaging themselves with the creative venture of the Spirit
  • be radical in their commitment and discipleship
  • offer themselves wholeheartedly in the service of Christ.

Please pray that all may respond faithfully to Christ's Call.

A prayer:

GOD has created me to do Him some definite service; He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another; I have my mission - I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next.
I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good, I shall do His work. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place while not intending it - if I do but keep His commandments. Therefore I will trust Him. Whatever, wherever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him; in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends; He may throw me amongst strangers. He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me - still He knows what He is about.
John Henry Newman
