Education

The Diocesan Education team is based at Diocesan House and offers support and professional advice to all who work with children and young people in parishes and schools. We work collaboratively to uphold God's mission within the Diocese.

The Diocese of Truro has 44 Church Schools; 36 Voluntary Aided Schools and 8 Voluntary Controlled Schools. We work with 2 Local Authorities, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Our vision is that, whilst seeking to ensure that children attending our church schools receive their statutory entitlement and their full academic education, they also acquire those lifelong skills which support the gospel principles, and are educated within a Christian environment.

We support our schools as they nurture our children to lead lives that reflect Christian values and teaching, personal faith and spiritual growth.

Values for Schools! Click here for the link to the Christian Values 4 Schools website. The one important principle of the website is the desirability of encouraging schools, dioceses, colleges and others to share their good practice. This is an amazing resource where creative and challenging ideas can be shared and developed.
