Parishes

Training and advice for parish officers and clergy is provided by the Communications Officer in a number of areas, including:

• Promoting events and publicity
• Parish magazines and newsletters
• Parish websites
• Help with potentially difficult media issues
• Parish Projects - eg Street Pastors; Welcome Packs
• The Ministry of Welcome - especially to visitors,
• Promoting the local Church and using it more frequently and more imaginatively
• Community use of church buildings

A monthly diocesan mailing is sent out by Diocesan House to all parish clergy. The effectiveness of this service has been subject to ongoing review; as broadband coverage is improved in Cornwall, it may be possible to move to a largely electronic mailing.
