Mothers' Union

Mothers' Union is a Christian organisation with more than 3.6 million members in 78 countries worldwide supported by a network of volunteers from all walks of life from all over the world. Mothers' Union aims to promote and encourage Christian family life, working through its grassroots membership.

Members are united in their commitment to supporting marriage and family life, regardless of their individual backgrounds. They give their time to generously help others, by supporting and running local projects, international campaigns and fundraising.

Mothers' Union members are involved in a wide range of community projects to meet the needs of individuals ranging from providing local under privileged families with a much needed break away from home to providing clothes for the Premature Baby unit at Treliske Hospital.

Whatever the needs within or outside of our community, Mothers' Union is willing to help. To support the developing countries our members help by raising funds for many projects including Literacy and developing Self-Help Craft programmes. We also run a programme called Knitting Teddies for Emergencies and teddies are sent all over the world to areas with emergency situations.

In our own community, our volunteer members get involved with parent & toddler groups and play schemes, they work with couples preparing for marriage and assist with Baptism Preparation. They also work very closely with the Church of England Schools in the Diocese.  There is also a project that involves the Three Women's Refugees in the Diocese.

Loving Lord
We thank you for your love so freely given to us all. We pray for families around the world. Bless the work of the Mothers' Union as we seek to share your love through the encouragement, strengthening and support of marriage and family life. Empowered by your Spirit, may we be united in prayer and worship, and in love and service reach out as your hands across the world. In Jesus' name.  Amen
