Flame
FLAME (Family Life And Marriage Education) is a network of diocesan representatives and other individuals across the Church of England who are working for the enhancement of family life, marriage and human relationships.
What do we aim to do?
- Encourage churches to engage with their communities by supporting family networks;
- Motivate laity and clergy to develop initiatives in relationship training;
- Enable and support parents, teachers, clergy and others dealing with parenting, adolescence, marriage enrichment, ageing, or any other family issues;
- Affirm people in their desire to strengthen relationships.
How do we seek to do this?
- Training - leaders in churches and groups to equip them to help others
- Educating - individuals, couples and families through a variety of courses and initiatives designed to help with marriage preparation, marriage enrichment, parenting courses, divorce recovery
- Co-operating - with secular and ecumenical organisations that are offering effective programmes
