Revd Steve Wilde with Bishop Tim and frogs

Royal Cornwall Show 2010

Despite threatening dark clouds hovering above, the Royal Cornwall Show began in bright fashion on Wednesday 9 June with its traditional ‘Start the Show' service, at which The Revd Steve Wild spoke, ably assisted by Bishop Tim and frogs Clarence and Horace.

Diocesan Communications Officer, David Watson was on hand to gather the evidence.

Music for the service was provided by St Minver Silver Band and the choir from St Breock Community Primary School had feet tapping as they sang their school song and ‘The Bare Necessities'.

On the opening day, their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall completed a packed tour of the showground, meeting a genuine cross-section of people and savouring many different aspects of Cornish life.

The Churches Together for Cornwall tent provided much of interest for young and old to do and a haven of peace and refreshment for busy show-goers.   Pictured below are the Diocesan Children's, Dor Kemmyn Faith and the Wedding displays.

Bishop Cornish CE Primary School stole the decorated egg show taking all the first three places!
