Bishop Phillpotts Library

Housed at Diocesan House, Bishop Phillpotts Library is an extensive theological library containing a large number of books and volumes.

Hands holding an open prayer book

It was established in central Truro in 1866 by the Bishop of Exeter, Henry Phillpotts, for the benefit of the clergy in Cornwall.

Today, it not only serves clergy, readers, worship leaders and local pastoral ministers from the Truro Diocese but also students and clergy of all denominations. In fact, anyone who requires the use of a theological library can become a member.

There is a £10 fee to join which is valid for one year. This subscription is free for all clergy and readers in Cornwall.

There are two computers in the library and Internet access is available.

Alternatively you can now access the entire library catalogue online.
