Poverty and Debt

The Diocese of Truro is a Founder partner of the Cornwall Independent Poverty Forum CIPF. The Diocese helped to organise Cornwall’s first Poverty Hearing in 1997.

The outcome of this momentous event was the creation of the:

1. Cornwall Independent Trust Fund (CITF) which played a significant part in drawing down funding for a host of projects across Cornwall including the conversion of church halls into Community Centres in places such as Delabole and Tuckingmill and work with disadvantaged young people in Hayle. CITF has since been incorporated into the Cornwall Community Foundation.

2. Cornwall Independent Poverty Forum (CIPF) which was established to speak out on behalf of the Socially Excluded within our Communities. CIPF has continued to hold Poverty Hearings in Bodmin and Truro (2005) Penzance and Wadebridge (2007) Liskeard and Camborne (2008). CIPF meets on the first Monday of every month (second Monday if the first is a Bank Holiday) at Diocesan House Kenwyn Truro at 2.00 pm. ALL WELCOME.

Redundancy

Whether you are 25 or 60 or somewhere in between, losing your job is a shock.  It may take you a while to think straight.  It may feel like a bereavement.  You may feel alone and depressed.  Don't suffer in silence.  Talk to someone who knows you, or someone who has shared your experience and understands.  Please see downloadable leaflet below "Lost your job? There is life after redundancy!" which gives useful information and contact numbers.
