CMEAC Committee for Minority Ethnic Anglican Concerns
Encouraging and supporting cultural diversity within the Church of England.
CMEAC was set up in the 1980s as a response to the alienation being experienced by Black and Asian people in the Church of England. Its role is to take forward the concerns of minority ethnic Anglicans and to ensure that they are valued and represented at all levels within the Church.
CMEAC does this in several ways. It fosters minority ethnic vocations within the Church, it works with young people, it fosters an understanding of racism, racial issues and cultural diversity and it liaises with other organisations committed to the elimination of racism and supporting cultural understanding.
Each Diocese has a Link Partner (DLP) who is locally responsible for the development of CMEAC's role.
In the Diocese of Truro the DLP is Jill Edwards who can be contacted at Diocesan House on 01872 247213 or alternatively click here to send an email. Please make sure that you select Social Responsibility from the drop down menu in the contact form.
