The legal team offers advice and support to all those involved with the Church of England in the Diocese. Mainly this is to do with the internal legal system which helps the church to function but we can help with all areas of law that affect the church.
In particular we can help with:
- Clergy - appointment, ministry, terms and conditions of service, discipline
- Church property - parsonages, glebe, PCC property, church trust property
- Church schools
- The parish - churchwardens, Parochial Church Councils
- The faculty jurisdiction - the planning system for churches
The Registry is based in the offices of Michelmores LLP solicitors and we can provide advice on a wide range of legal subjects. The firm has been advising the church for the best part of 100 years.
