Works instructed by the Parsonage Department
On receipt of a request for works to a house, the Parsonage Department will undertake the following action:
- Works are prioritised, with urgent works being immediately instructed to one of our trusted contractors.
- 1 to 5 Contractors are invited to quote on the basis of a specification document for less urgent works, dependent on the value and nature of the works, to ensure we receive value for money
- A Property Services work order is issued with a unique reference number which allows us to track the progress of works and finances
- A copy of the work order is sent to you detailing the contractor, the work being done, and a monitoring sheet which you should complete when the work is finished
- The contractor will contact you, to arrange a convenient time for the works to be undertaken. If no contact has been made in a reasonable time please contact the contractor yourself to arrange an appointment
- The contractor should start work and keep you informed of progress and any reason for delay. If you consider the contractor is not complying with the specification or is not acting in a workmanlike manner, please raise this with him initially. If things do not improve please contact the Parsonage Department and we will take action.
Please do not instruct the contractor to do works yourself, or you may have to meet the costs incurred. If you feel additional works are required please let Property Services know.
On completion of the work please fill in the monitoring form commenting on the contractor's performance or let us know of anything we can do to improve our support to you in the future.
