homelessAs the coldest time of the year approaches St Petroc’s is making plans to run a Winter Night Shelter at its Centre in Truro during December and January. This will not meet the needs of all those who will be sleeping rough and so the churches are working in partnership with St Petroc’s to open an additional temporary shelter in Camborne. This ambitious and worthy project is going to need a lot of volunteers. All volunteers will offered full training and support by St Petroc’s staff and travel expenses will be provided.

Last winter a similar project in Cornwall accommodated 111 rough sleepers and 75 % of these were helped into permanent accommodation as a result of their contact with the service. So this really is an opportunity to make a difference.
